FLAVORx Pediatric
FLAVORx is available upon request at the pharmacy. Many pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will even promote the service since they know how bad children's liquid medicines can taste. Once you agree to have the medicine flavored, you'll pick your flavor or the pharmacist/technician will recommend a good choice. Better yet, have your child pick they flavor since that will make them feel like they've got some say in getting better. The real magic happens behind the counter in the pharmacy. Using our custom recipes, pharmacists add specific amounts of our flavors, sweetener or bitterness mask to make the medicine taste just right for your son or daughter.
We use a blend of natural and artificial flavors. Our sweetener is all natural. Every FLAVORx Pediatric product is non-allergenic, sugar-free, sodium-free and dye-free.
Bubblegum is our most popular flavor, followed closely by Grape then Watermelon. Since no two people have the same sense of taste, we'll always offer more options like Apple, Raspberry, Cherry and Chocolate. The beauty of FLAVORx is that medicine can taste like whatever your child would like.
Most pharmacies charge between $2 and $3 for flavoring. This typically comes out to less than $0.10 per dose of medication. It's money well spent when you consider how much easier it is for your child to take the medicine.

Yes. In most cases, all you have to do is ask your pharmacist. FLAVORx is a great way to improve the taste of any liquid medication, including over-the-counter products. Some states require approval from a physician before an OTC can be flavored.
Although our products will improve the taste of your child's medicine, making it easier to swallow, it is not formulated to make medicine taste like candy. We want your child to take their medicine when they need it, not when they don't. Like all medicines, liquid medication containing FLAVORx should be kept in a child-safe container and out of the reach of children.
